Learn about the fundamentals of creating and coding web animations in this workshop. We’ll illustrate and animate custom creatures while learning about different ways to create animations with CSS and SVGs.

This workshop will introduce ways customize UI elements by animating popups, buttons, stickers, menus, load screens and text. We’ll also go into more traditional animations using illustrations you’ll create in Illustrator or Sketch.

No previous programming experience is required to take this workshop.

We’ll cover:

  • CSS Animations and Transitions

  • Animate spritesheets

  • Custom timing and easing of CSS animations

  • Troubleshooting and customizing animations with browser tools

  • The differences between animating native html elements and SVG elements
